Annie WakanyiHead of Development Cooperation
Annie Wakanyi is the Head of Development Cooperation in AGRA, where she is responsible for developing and implementing AGRA’s overall organizational resource mobilization strategy and relationship building with development partners to garner a strong support base for AGRA and agricultural transformation on the continent.
Ms. Wakanyi is a development professional with over 17 years of experience in resource mobilization, engagement with development partners, and program management. She joined AGRA three years ago as a Resource Mobilization Officer and has played a key role and significantly contributed to AGRA’s resource mobilization campaign that has so far secured US$383 million of its five-year strategy resource mobilization targets, through being actively involved in designing successful proposals to Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), BMZ-Germany, United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID), among others.
Previously, Ms. Wakanyi held similar roles at Child Fund International, PLAN International and Oxfam International. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree from University of Nairobi, and currently pursuing a Master’s in Organizational Development.
