Yamfwa Chinyanta, a Zambian National, has extensive local and international experience as a Human Resource Professional in the areas of Talent Management, Talent Development, Leadership Development, Employee relations , Policy Development, Change Management and HR Information Systems.
Yamfwa was the Country Head of HR at Cargill Zambia – an agro-business focusing on delivering value along the agricultural supply chain. In his current role, Yamfwa provides HR leadership in developing and executing Human Resources Strategy for an employee workforce of 800+ and guides people-centred business initiatives. He successfully led HR merger and acquisition initiatives and integration activities during the acquisition of a Soybean crushing and oil refining company. While at Airtel Africa, as the Head of Anglophone – Shared Services, he oversaw a massive transformation project across 10 countries in Africa involving people and technology and improving HR Service delivery to over 5,000 employees spread across Africa.
Yamfwa also has a strong background in Software Engineering with experience in setting and administering IT systems and infrastructure, Enterprise Resource Planning systems and Project Management.
He holds an MBA in Strategic Planning; an SAQA Certified Occupationally Directed Education and Training Development Practitioner Certificate (OD-ETDP); Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and is a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
Additionally, Yamfwa serves on the Board of Directors for the Zambia National Commercial Bank, one of the largest banks in Zambia; and is the Chairperson of the HR and Compensation Sub-Committee of the Board.
