Dr. Richard Jones
Chief of Party, Scaling Seeds and Technologies Partnership (SSTP)
Dr. Richard Jones, is the Chief of Party for the Scaling Seeds and Technologies Partnership in Africa (SSTP). Dr. Jones, who has more than 26 years of experience living and working in Africa, received his PhD from Reading University in 1989, after which he accepted a postdoctoral fellowship with the Rockefeller Foundation in Malawi. Later, he worked for the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) and the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC).
Dr. Jones’ research interests include the integration of legumes into maize-based systems, seed systems, and the improvement of soil fertility through the use of organic and inorganic fertilizers. Since August 2013, he has served as Chief of Party for the Scaling Seeds and Technologies Partnership in Africa (SSTP).
