Lilian Nyang’aya

Chief Finance Officer

Lilian brings with her over 20 years’ experience in the Not-For-Profit and the NGO sectors. Prior to joining AGRA, Lilian was the Director, Finance and Operations Africa at World Wildlife Fund (WWF) where she managed and coordinated the work of the Finance and Operations units by providing financial oversight of the country offices, setting up and enforcing the risk management and control framework, and leading the planning and budgeting processes. Before that, she held several positions at Oxfam GB which included Regional Business Services Manager for Horn, East and Central Africa; Regional Business Services Manager West Africa; Acting Regional Finance and Systems Manager, Horn , East and Central Africa; Regional Finance Coordinator, Horn, East and Central Africa; Finance Manager, Tanzania; and Regional Accountant, Horn, East and Central Africa. She has also worked at Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), Belgium as an Assistant Finance Manager, Nairobi joint office, supporting Kenya, Somalia and South Sudan. Prior to that, she served as a Senior Accountant at Credit Africa Ltd.

She holds a Global Executive MBA from United States International University (USIU) in partnership with Solbridge International School of Business, South Korea; a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Delhi, Jesus and Mary College, India and is a Certified Public Accountant (K).

President Mokgweetsi Masisi has, acting in accordance with Section 7 of the University of Botswana Act of 2008, appointed Linah Mohohlo as the Chancellor of the University of Botswana for a period of 5 years effective the 19th of July 2018 to 18 June 2023. Linah Mohohlo was the Governor of the Bank of Botswana
