Mr. Vianey Rweyendela

Country Director-Tanzania AGRA

Mr. Vianey Rweyendela is an Agricultural Economist, Economic Transformation Expert and M&E specialist with excellent knowledge of the agricultural transformation dynamics in Tanzania and various countries in East & Southern Africa. With more than 23 years’ experience in managing development projects, public-private sector engagements and typically RD4 interventions in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana and South Africa. In the past eleven years worked with AGRA in supporting Tanzania government to resource mobilize for agricultural transformation interventions.

For the past 11 years he has managed partnerships between governments, private sector and donor/development partners in the areas of agri-food systems and resource mobilizations. He specialized in value chains analysis, market analyses and linkages, input/output marketing, agricultural finance and monetary systems. Mr. Rweyendela has conducted several M&E related activities such as Data Quality Assessments (DQAs), baseline surveys, perception and adoption studies, midterm and end of project evaluations, and has participated in several rural enterprise development projects aiming at the commercialization of both agricultural and non-agricultural commodities. Have managed M&E systems development for DFID and USAID projects aimed at agriculture, health and education transformational activities. Currently is a member of several boards; Board Chair-College of Agriculture at Sokoine University of Agriculture, Chair-Legal and Corporate Affairs Committee of Cereal and Other Produce Regulatory Authority (COPRA-Board), Advisory Board Member, Agricultural Seed Agency (ASA) Board Chair; Tanzania Road Freight Association (TRFA). He currently serves as Country Director-AGRA/Tanzania since 2018.
