Eluphy Banda Nyirenda, PhD, serves as Country Director for AGRA/Malawi, bringing 17 years of experience in managing trade and agricultural investments. As a trade economist, Eluphy has held various roles, including Strategic Integration Advisor on Private Sector with USAID/Malawi, where she provided strategic leadership on private sector engagement across U.S. government portfolios in Malawi. Her career spans multiple positions, including Policy and Partnerships Specialist, Acting Mission Economist for USAID, and a Wise Counsellor/Advisor to the U.S. Ambassador to Malawi on economic and private sector issues. Prior to joining USAID, Eluphy served as Chief Economist to the Ministries of Trade and Agriculture, leading various units within the Planning Departments.
