Dr. Victor Antwi
Head of Input Distribution and Agro Dealer Development
Dr. Victor Antwi, a Ghanaian, is an accomplished agribusiness development and SME expert with 30 years of experience in subsector/value chain and supply chain analyses and linkages, financial and investment analyses, institutional strengthening, research, community and enterprise development, marketing, rural and agribusiness development.
Prior to joining AGRA, he worked as a Deputy Chief of Party and Agribusiness Opportunities Development Manager on USAID Financing Ghanaian Agriculture Project (USAID FinGAP), Dr. Antwi developed agribusinesses for investments by financial intermediaries. He led a team to facilitate over $168million private capital from wide spectrum of financial institutions including banks, equity firms, capital market among others, disbursed to finance agribusiness opportunities in rice, maize and soy value chains for 2995 agribusinesses which directly benefited approximately 169,000 smallholder farmers – 40% of whom are women- and aggregators in deprived communities.
During numerous short-term consultancies, Dr. Antwi has demonstrated his technical expertise in strengthening value chains, providing financial services and developing market linkages, and made gender and diversity considerations in his planning. He has the pedigree to manage Program/Technical Support departments/units to provide wide spectrum of advisory services to programs and projects.
He holds an MBA and PhD in Chemical Engineering.
