Gerald's three children are now in private schools, he has opened a mobile phone and motorcycle taxi business, and grows trees for sale as building materials. AGRA supported the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation's program to develop 'maridadi' finger millet which Gerald and other farmers grow. Maridadi has up to 500% higher yields than previously planted breeds.
